Three Drawer Dresser, **SOLD**

$0.00

Do you like the look of Pottery Barn bedroom furniture, but are turned-off by the high prices?

If yes, then this solid wood, well-built three drawer dresser may be for you. I have refinished this piece in the style of the Pottery Barn Sausalito finish, and it’s for sale at 80 percent less than the cost of an original.  The subtle brushed wood-grain texture, the warm rugged tan and java brown colors, and the modern matte black hardware all pay homage to the popular designer original.

When I obtained this dresser from friends who were moving, it had already been upcycled once with a thick coat of dark brown paint. To ensure the wood graining technique would endure over time, I had to scrape back the existing finish to a solid surface, then sand and prime the wood. Next, a base coat of semi-gloss tan paint was brushed on and allowed to dry, followed by the application of a medium-brown glaze.  While wet, the glaze was evenly feathered with a fluffy brush, and then a whisk broom was run through the wet glaze to impart the impression of wood grain. (Thanks again to Shannon @BlackSheepHouse for teaching me this cool technique!). After the finish dried, three coats of matte polyurethane were applied. New slim, square, matte-black bar pulls were added for the new look.

The result is a modern and chic vibe with very clean lines.  The dresser has solid wood sides and drawers, a full 1¼” thick top, and metal side-mount drawer glides. The metal side-mounts maximize the amount of storage in each drawer (6½” D x 29½” W 15” D).

 Local pickup Takoma Park, MD.

 Dimensions:  Overall 34” W x 32 ½” H x 20” D

$325. Cash, Paypal or Venmo ONLY.
